As we head into the NBA offseason let’s look at the 5 best players at each position in the league right now. Today we’ll start with the shooting guards, everything will be taken into consideration like injuries, team play, age and what the player is like off the court. Each day we’ll do a different position.
- Devin Booker
This may be a shock to have Booker as the number one shooting guard in the league but considering his age, playoff stats and how he acts off the court id put him number one. Booker is a young ascending player who’s a top scoring guard and he may not be the greatest defensive guard Booker’s offense makes up for his lack of defense.
- Bradley Beal
Bradley Beal is a phenomenal player in my opinion, from being considered one of the most loyal players in today’s game to an underrated two way guard, Beal is younger than most would think, Beal is only 28 and can easily be a top 5 SG for the next five years.
- Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell is similar to Devin Booker as they are both young ascending SG in this league, now Donvan is more of a two way player than Booker, Mitchell isn’t as gifted on the offensive end as Booker. Donovan is a great player off the court but on the court has had some issues with teammate Rudy Gobert in their on the court relationship but still is a great shooting guard for the next 5-7 years.
- Zach Lavine
Now some would say Zach Lavine should be ahead of Devin Booker or Donovan Mitchell but Lavine isn’t as gifted on the offensive end as Booker or gifted on the defensive end as Mitchell so it leaves Lavine in a weird spot, but nonetheless Lavine is still a great player with most teams wanting to have him as he’s set to hit free agency this offseason. Lavine has not been considered a “winning” player but also hasn’t been on the right team for that either.
- Anthony Edwards
This may be a shock to some as why Anthony Edwards is number 5 on this list skipping C.J Mccollum or Klay Thomspon but with Thompson’s injuries and C.J’s age Anthony Edwards was perfect to put at the number five spot. Edwards is becoming his own in Minnesota in his short two year NBA career but the fans and media love this guy on and off the court, with his jokes to starring in Netflix movie “Hustle” his off the court personality is one a NBA fan couldn’t not love.
