NBA draft night trades and rumors

With the NBA having one of its biggest nights of the year with the draft many moves have been made in the last 24 hours. We’ll also be ranking those moves with the common A-F grading system.

    Detroit Pistons B+

The reasoning behind giving the Pistons a B+ as many of the media liked the Pistons moves in the draft but the return Detirot got for Jerami Grant simply wasn’t enough.

    Orlando Magic A

The Magic didn’t do much in the draft for moves but taking Paolo Banchero was a good move by Orlando, many Magic fans wanted Chet but his weight is concerning to some front offices.

    Oklahoma City Thunder A

Many thought Chet Holmgran was a lock for the #1 pick but with Paolo shooting up the draft boards to the #1 spot OKC had no choice to take Chet, as Holmgram’s body isn’t ready for the NBA it’s no rush as Oklahoma has plenty of draft picks in the future.

    Los Angeles Lakers C+

For what the Lakers had for picks i think they did great, they drafted a rookie in the second round who could be helpful for them and overshadowing that is how the Lakers signed Shareef O’ Niel and Scottie Pippen Jr. to two-way contracts.

    Philadelphia 76ers B+

Now a A grade is for the teams who knock it out of the park but the 76ers did very close to that, saving $10 million in cap space by trading guard Danny Green and the No. 23 pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for De’Anthony Melton.

    New York Knicks D

The New York Knicks didn’t shock anyone by making another bad move on draft night, trading away the No.11 pick with still many talented players left in the draft for essentially to clear $18 million dollars in cap space and 3 future draft picks but all all protected.
