Kyler Murray, Cardinals agree to massive extension

Kyler Murray just got paid. The Cardinals pro bowl quarterback has agreed to a monster 5 year $230.5 million dollar extension with $160 million guaranteed, Murray is now under contract in Arizona through the 2028 season. Since entering the NFL Kyler has improved every year in team wins, completion percentage and QBR, with 2021 being a down year in some aspects for Murray the team started off hot being 8-0 but after injuries riddled the team towards the middle of the season the Cardinals fell off but still did make the playoffs.

Murray wanted to get paid early and got his wish, getting an extension two years early in fact, which in this case this situation between the all pro QB and the Cardinals could have gotten messy as Murray scrubbed all his social media accounts of anything to do with the Cardinals and it was made reported multiple times if Kyler didn’t get this extension he would have held out of this upcoming season.

The All Pro quarterback has been racking up awards in his short NFL career winning offensive rookie of the year, two pro bowls and has been featured in the NFL’s top 100 players list twice now. Murray also finished top 3 in completion percentage last year with a staggering 69.2%.
