The Los Angeles Lakers made a late night roster move on wednesday evening, sending Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson to the Jazz in exchange for newly acquired Jazz guard Patrick Beverly.
Beverly played last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves being packaged in the massive Rudy Gobert trade this offseason, Beverly averaged 9.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists a game for his short duration on the T-Wolves. Beverly has played in Los Angeles and isn’t scared of the spotlight he would have on himself in L.A, as Beverly played a multitude of seasons for the Lakers rivals the L.A Clippers.
This Lakers backcourt could be one of the most storied backcourts in all of the NBA as current point guard Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverly have had a messy past on and off the court. Beverly is known around the NBA as a “enforcer” and one of the better defensive guards in the NBA. With the Lakers including no picks in this trade, Lakers fans have to be somewhat excited for Beverly’s arrival in L.A but also confused as to why Westbrook is still on the team as this is not a good fit by any means on and off the court.
