Starting off in the NFL, newly acquired Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has signed a massive extension with the club that puts Russell under contract with the Broncos through the 2028 season. Russell and the Denver Broncos have agreed on a five year $245 million dollar extension with $165 million guaranteed. Denver now makes Russell the second highest paid quarterback on a yearly average basis just behind Aaron Rodgers who is averaging just over $50 million a year, good news for Denver fans is this contract does not kick in until the 2024 season so by then Mr unlimited will likely be around the fifth-eight highest QB.
Wilson also said “I believe this is a marriage, and you want to be here for a long time, and my goal is to be able to finish my career here.” Denver has also stated numerous times how Russell has made such a dramatic effect on this organization since arriving in Denver these last few months. Russell also faces his former team the Seattle Seahawks in week 1.
