Steelers vs Browns thursday night football preview

Week 3 of the NFL season is starting with a great all time rivalry game in Pittsburgh versus Cleveland. Even though these two teams aren’t great teams right now they always play each other really well, especially in the last few years.

With below average quarterbacks starting for each team this is more based on whose defense can hold the other team to less points. Both offenses for these teams have been bottom of the league thus far through two weeks but that’s nothing to be concerned about as a viewer as per usual something interesting will happen during the game.

With Cleveland being 5.5 point favorites at home this looks like a potential money maker if you bet on the Steelers as head coach Mike Tomlin has always played well as an underdog, now I’m not telling you to bet but if I personally was looking to bet this game I’d take Pittsburgh +5.5. Even with the media being significantly down on Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky and T.J Watt’s injury in week 1 this Pittsburgh team can still cover the points, that being said i do have the Browns winning this game in a ugly 24-20 fashion it’s still a wood watch for a stand alone game this week.

The key to this game is the Steelers run defense as they currently rank bottom ten in the league and Cleveland averaging a league 200.5 rushing yards a game between running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt at the helm. Cleveland is doing something historically amazing as the only other team to rush for over 200 yards a game was the 2019 Baltimore Ravens, if Pittsburgh can hold the Browns to under 150 yards rushing this could be a ball game.

My final prediction for this game is a scrappy 24-20 win for the Cleveland Browns.
