Week three in the NFL was nothing short of spectacular as some teams fell to 0-3, some underdogs won and some teams are still on fire. Let’s go through my three biggest takeaways from Sunday’s games and why they should or shouldn’t be worried about their season.
AFC West had a rough day…mostly
Three of the four teams in the AFC West lost yesterday except one, the Devner Broncos who narrowly won but Denver fans still can’t be excited from that win. Coming into the offseason the AFC West was widely considered by far the best division in football but so far that’s not looking true. With the Raiders dropping to a shocking 0-3 with yesterday’s 22-24 loss to the Titans, the Chargers getting blown out by the Jaguars and now becoming injury riddled, the Chiefs shot themselves in the foot with special teams mistakes and the Broncos winning but still looking atrocious on offense.
Miami upsets Buffalo in a shocking thriller
Two of the hottest teams in the NFL faced off on Sunday afternoon and it was nothing short of spectacular, with both teams 2-0 one had to walk away with a loss and that team was Buffalo who had a shaky defense coming into the game with multiple key pieces missing like Jordan Phillips, Mikah Hyde and others. With all that Buffalo still had a chance to win the game but Josh Allen didn’t have enough time to spike the ball for a game winning field goal but the clock ran out. Allen and Tua had a moment at the end of the game in which Allen looked visually frustrated and disappointed.
Green Bay holds on for the narrow win in Tampa
In a crazy ending the Green Bay Packers hold on after Tom Brady and the Bucs miss the potential game tying two point conversion. Green Bay got off to a speedy start scoring on their first two drives and taking a 14-3 lead at halftime, credit to the Bucs defense as they shut out Green Bay completely in the second half but Tampa’s offense looked bad with all the missing receivers, Brady was missing multiple offensive lineman, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Julio Jones who are his top three receivers this season. With all those problems Brady had to overcome the game still came down to one two point conversion at the end, Brady acknowledged the Bucs offense shot themselves in the foot with their mistakes. Aaron Rodgers looks like he found his next favorite target in Romeo Doubs who caught eight passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Green Bay proceeds to 2-1 as Tampa falls to 2-1.
