Week 9 in the NFL was nothing short of spectacular, some underdogs won and some teams are still on fire. Let’s go through my three biggest takeaways from Sunday’s games and why they should or shouldn’t be worried about their season.
Jets upset the Bills
The New York Jets upset the Buffalo Bills who are considered to be the best team in the NFL, the Bills who were heavy betting favorites coming into this game lost 17-20 with Bills quarterback Josh Allen playing poorly with two interceptions and just sloppy play all around. The New York Jets and their fans have to feel ecstatic about this win against Buffalo and their chances to make the playoffs this year. This Jets team is a rangy and tough team, particularly on defense as the Jets are quickly becoming one of the best defenses in the league.
Minnesota 7-1???
Are the 7-1 Minnesota Vikings underrated or overrated? I believe this Vikings team isn’t as good as their record makes them look, with this Vikings team barely pulling out a win against the Washington Commanders. The Vikings came from behind to win 20-17 against Washington and with Kurt Cousins playing a middle of the pack game this Vikings team has so much more potential if they had a better quarterback at the helm.
NFC offensive struggles
With some of the best NFC teams in 2021 in the Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, these three teams are all under .500 and their chances of making the playoffs are looking slimmer week by week and that’s particularly by the struggles on offense with these three teams. For the Bucs and Rams case their offensive lines are really struggling between injuries or losses in the offseason, for Green Bay’s case their offense looks anemic with the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers with below average and rookie receivers, Rodgers hasn’t looked close to his former back to back MVP self, with the Packers and Rodgers having three interceptions against the Detroit Lions that really cost them the game and fall to 3-6 on the year.
