Recapping Saints Ravens Monday night game

As we wrap up week 9 in the NFL season. The Baltimore Ravens will be taking on the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans on Monday night football, with the ravens making a key addition to the defense in Roquan smith at the trade deadline, last week they looked to integrate Smith into their defense and with a struggling New Orleans offense the Saints will look to capitalize on a struggling Baltimore defense. Let’s take a look at each half of this game and break it down on how each team played.

As we go through the first half the Ravens thus far have looked like the better team by a wide margin as Lamar Jackson set up a nice touchdown pass to rookie tight end Isaiah Likely, and Baltimore‘s rushing offense once again looks great, even without starting running back JK Dobbins. The Saints on the other hand look anemic on both sides of the ball as they can’t seem to get any sort of running game going and can’t stop the ravens run heavy offense. Even though the ravens struggle to throw the ball in this first half they’ve done a nice job spreading it around to all of their playmakers.

In the second half it was all about the Ravens run game as back up running back Kenyan Drake played really well throughout the game scoring two touchdowns and rushing for over 90 yards, Lamar Jackson also did a great job on the ground with over 80 yards. The Ravens didn’t do a great job passing the ball without their top to pass catchers in Rashad Bateman who is out for the year and Mark Andrews who’s out for this game, it’s quite impressive that the leading receiver on the ravens had 24 receiving yards and Baltimore still won by double digits.

The Saints red zone offense looked atrocious with Alvin Kamara getting a lack of touches, It really makes you wonder why New Orleans didn’t give Kamara the ball more for some reason, Kamara only got nine rushing attempts and gathered 30 yards on the ground, even though Saints quarterback Andy Dalton struggled at times New Orleans coaching really need to make some adjustments last night. Baltimore won 27-13.
