As the Philadelphia Eagles look to keep their undefeated record alive. They will be playing in a NFC east divisional matchup. The 4-5 Washington commanders look to keep their playoff hopes alive, as the Eagles are arguably the hottest team in the NFL right now and Jalen hurts having a MVP caliber season thus far, this could be a sneaky close game for the Eagles if the commanders can limit the turnovers and force the Eagles into third and longs and bad field position. Let’s go through each half of this game in my thoughts overall.
The Eagles dominated the first quarter with Jalen Hurts playing well and looking poised in the pocket. The Commanders dominated the first half with a 20-14 league going into halftime. This Commanders team really forced turnovers and forced Jalen hurts into some bad mistakes, the Commanders really took out star receiver AJ Brown who up until this game has had a great year. Even with the backup quarterback in, Taylor Heinicke and Commanders still looked strong and came out swinging in the first half.
The second half was more of the Commanders as they forced the Philadelphia eagles into multiple fumbles and won the turnover battle 4 to 1. With such a lopsided possession game Washington ran the ball in the second half and played keep away with Philadelphia. As Philadelphia has done to basically every team they played thus far into the year.
Overall I did think this was a trap game for the Eagles, but credit to the Commanders as they kept their playoff hopes alive with a dominating 32 to 21 win. Eagles fall to 8-1 as the Commanders advance to 5-5 on the year.
