Week 15 in the NFL was nothing short of spectacular, some underdogs won and some teams are still on fire. Let’s go through my three biggest takeaways from Sunday’s games and why they should or shouldn’t be worried about their season.
Chiefs edge Texans in overtime thriller
The Kansas City Chiefs edge out the Houston Texans in an overtime thriller that came down to the wire thanks to the Chiefs defense forcing a fumble and putting the Chiefs offense in field goal range to win the game. Patrick Mahomes played a decent game as he was overall with three total touchdowns which included two in the air with one rushing touchdown, Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon had the best game of his career as he had two total touchdowns with being effective in the run game and passing game, Chiefs win 30-24.
Jaguars upset Cowboys with walk off interception
The Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Dallas Cowboys with a walk off interception in overtime thrown by Quarterback Dak Prescott to send the Cowboys home, Dak has really struggled in recent weeks with multiple interceptions in the past few weeks, against the Texans and now the Jaguars. Credit to Trevor Lawerance as he’s quickly becoming a top quarterback in this league with throwing three plus touchdowns over the last couple weeks and keeping the Jaguars in playoff contention, Jags win 30-24.
Bengals pummel Bucs in second half
The Tampa Bay buccaneers came out swinging, taking a commanding 17-0 lead halfway through the second quarter and holding Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to under 90 yards of total offense. in the second half the Bengals defense forced four turnovers to give Cincinnati’s offense a short field to quickly score, the Bengals turned a 17-0 deficit to a 34-17 lead within a quarter and a half, despite the box score being 34-23 this game wasn’t close halfway through the fourth quarter as the Buccaneers scored a garbage time touchdown to make the game closer than it actually appeared.
