Capping off week 16 of the NFL season we have the Los Angeles Chargers taking on the Indianapolis Colts. With the Chargers clinching a playoff birth with a win tonight, they’ll look to win this game and make the playoffs for the first time since 2018 when quarterback Phillip Rivers was on the team. Let’s go through each half of football and give my overall thoughts on this game.
In the first quarter this game was a really slow game as each team struggled to get any offense going and even get in field goal range, but with the second quarter getting going both teams did in fact score, the Chargers scored with a nice Austin Ekeler run to the end zone to a early lead, the Colts then did score to make it a 7-3 game. The Chargers did in fact kick another field goal to make this game a touchdown difference going into halftime.
In the second half this game was all about the Chargers as they scored another touchdown with Austin Ekeler running into the end zone once again. With this Chargers defense getting healthy over these last few weeks, they really shut down this bad Colts team and forced Colts quarterback Nick Foles into three interceptions to make this game a very lopsided win for Los Angeles.
Overall this game wasn’t even competitive in the second half as this Colts team coached by Jeff Saturday has been possibly the worst team in the league over his head coaching career. Chargers fans and players have to feel great as they beat the Colts 20-3 to clinch a playoff berth and continue their win streak. Colts fall to 4-10-1 as the Chargers advance to 9-6.
