Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has announced on Friday that he will return to the Rams next season to coach per NFL network insider Ian Rappaport. Sean McVay‘s future for the last couple months was up in the air, it was reported throughout the week that he was leaning towards a Reporting gig in the booth with either ESPN or Fox.
The 37 year old head coach is a Super Bowl champion in which he won last year and marks him as the youngest coach to win a Super Bowl, with McVay coaching for his fifth year this is just a second time he missed the playoffs as he had a very disappointing and one of the worst Super Bowl defending years going a dreadful 5-12.
McVay stated throughout the year that he is tied to the current roster core, which includes Aaron Donald, Cooper, Kupp, Matt Stafford, and others, which definitely raised a red flag in the media. With Aaron Donald contemplating retirement last off season that’s what really started the rumors as McVay pointed out he was tied to Donald and the Rams corps.
Sean McVay will look to bounce back next season and hopefully make a long playoff push with many players coming back from injuries next year, this Rams team can be a very scary team to go against next year if they are fully healthy.
