Saturday afternoon and night was a crazy scene as we had the first two games of wild card weekend kicking off with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Seattle Seahawks at 4:30 eastern time, and the Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15. Let’s go through each game and give my overall thoughts on it.
San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks
The San Francisco 49ers pummeled the Seattle Seahawks 41-23 as 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy put on a show in the second half throwing 4 ouchdowns and having a overall good game, Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel also both had great games as they each had over 100 yards of scrimmage and really carried this 49ers team to a victory. Credit to the Seattle Seahawks as they played a great first half but couldn’t keep up in the second half as the 49ers offense really exploded onto the scene in the second half.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Los Angeles Chargers
In one of the most historic comebacks in NFL playoff history, the Jacksonville Jaguars came down from a 27-0 deficit in the second half to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30. With Trevor Lawrence really struggling in this game, throwing four interceptions he picked up his play throwing four touchdowns and leading the Jaguars to a comeback win and a divisional playoff game, with the Chargers blowing such a significant lead, the Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is rumored to now get fired as he has underperformed with this roster in the last couple years with one of the league’s best quarterbacks in Justin Herbert.
