With more shocking news coming out of the NFL on Thursday afternoon from offensive coordinators, getting fired to lots of other coaching changes and rumors, let’s go through some of the rumors and firings that happened in the last week and what this means for them each.
So far this week we’ve had a few head coach firings that included Texans head coach, Lovie Smith, Arizona Cardinals Kliff Kingsbury and Broncos, Nathaniel Hackett but we also have other potential openings like the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.
So far we’ve had a few offensive coordinators getting fired like New York Jets Mike LaFleur,Los Angeles Chargers Mike Lombardi, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Byron Leftwich and Baltimore Ravens Greg Roman. We also have other openings that are presumably going to be open later in this off-season that haven’t been named yet.
One of the best coaching candidates on the market this off-season is former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, who has reportedly had many meetings around the league with teams like the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers, and possibly more in the future. It was reported that the Broncos and Payton are most likely going to come to an agreement and for this to be the likely spot Peyton lands.
