Recapping NFL Sunday’s divisional round weekend games

Sunday’s afternoon and night was a crazy scene as we had the first two games of wild card weekend kicking off with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Buffalo Bills at 3:00 Eastern time, and the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Dallas Cowboys at 6:30. Let’s go through each game and give my overall thoughts on it.

Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Buffalo Bills 27-10 to advance to the AFC championship game where they will have a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs in arrowhead. With Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow having another great playoff game this Bengals offense was really efficient and scored on over half of their drives. Credit to the Bengals defense as they held the Buffalo Bills to just 10 points and gave Josh Allen fits between their zone coverage and unique pass rush blitzes.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers advance to the NFC championship game as they beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-12 on Sunday night football. With Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott having a horrible game he really let the Niners win the time of possession and keep Dallas’s defense on the field for too long. With 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy having a pedestrian game he gave the ball to the offensive playmakers and let this 49ers defense carry them to a victory.
