Houston Texans trade and resign key players

The Houston Texans have made some franchise changing decisions on Sunday morning. The Texans made two moves with arguably their top two players and both of them on offense in star left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

First off let’s start with superstar left tackle Laremy Tunsil who was resigned by the Texans making Tunsil the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history on a per year basis. Tunsil signed a three year extension with Houston that is worth up to $75 million dollars and that includes $50 million fully guaranteed. This is a no brainer for the Texans as Tunsil is a top three left tackle in the NFL today.

Brandin Cooks is now being traded for the fourth time in his career and will now be headed right down the road to the Dallas Cowboys. Cooks who is 29 is looking to play for a Super Bowl contender as Cooks has been playing for arguably the worst team in the NFL over the last three years. Cooks is being traded to the Cowboys for a 2023 fifth round pick and a 2024 sixth round pick.
