NFL free agency news

With NFL free agency winding down we are starting to see less and less players sign to new teams as teams have spent the last of their cap space ahead of the NFL draft in the coming months. Let’s go through the biggest signings and whatnot over the last 24 hours.

First off the Miami Dolphins have officially picked up the fifth year option on quarterback Tua Tagovaila’s contract as he is likely to be the Fins quarterback for the next two seasons. This option was reportedly picked up early last week but the Dolphins made it official today.

Next up we have the Las Vegas Raiders signing free agent tight end O.J Howard to a one year deal, the Raiders needed more depth at the tight end position as they traded superstar Darren Waller away to the Giants last week. Howard is a pretty good signing and will add another pair of hands to catch.

Possibly the biggest signing of the weekend is star safety C.J Gardener-Johnson who is joining the Detroit Lions on a one year $8 million dollar deal. C.J was offered a three year deal with the Eagles for $8 million also but the details and guaranteed money was not what C.J was looking for, Gardener-Johnson is betting on himself with this deal and will look to sign a massive contract next offseason.

Star wide receiver Adam Thielen is joining a NFC rival in the Carolina Panthers, Theilen is joining the Panthers on a three year deal for an undisclosed amount per year. Thielen will be working with a new rookie quarterback and a whole new staff as the lifelong Viking is looking to end his career in Carolina.
