NFL free agency news

With NFL free agency winding down we are starting to see less and less players sign to new teams as teams have spent the last of their cap space ahead of the NFL draft in the coming months. Let’s go through the biggest signings and whatnot over the last 24 hours.

First off we have a retirement in three time Super Bowl champion Dont’a Hightower, Hightower was one of the top and most underrated linebackers in the league for a long time and will now make his case for the hall of fame. After Hightower was released by the Patriots last season it was clear that Hightower didn’t have the same level of play as he once did.

The Dallas Cowboys are adding running back depth by signing Ronald Jones to a one year deal, Jones was a key player on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his first couple years in the league and since then has played for the Kansas City Chiefs and now the Dallas Cowboys.

Cam Newton is looking to return to action as he is throwing at Auburn’s pro day on Tuesday, Newton who is 33 is looking to make a comeback to the NFL and be a starting quarterback for a team, Cam released a video on social media saying “ain’t 32 motherf—— better than me,” likely alluding to his belief that he’s still good enough to be a starting quarterback on one of the NFL’s 32 squads.
