Commanders owner Dan Snyder sells team for $6 billion

The Washington Commanders have officially sold and after twenty years the Commanders will have a new owner, a group of investors that’s headed by Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris has paid a pretty penny for the sinking franchise. The Commanders sell for a record bid of $6.05 billion dollars which is the most for a major league franchise ever in the history of sports.

Snyder bought the Washington Redskins in 1999 for $750 million dollars and will now make eight times that as he is now a very rich man. Snyder’s tenure as the Commanders owner was disastrous as the franchise only won two playoff games in the span of his ownership tenure which is the second lowest in the NFL today.

After many accusations and lawsuits it was finally time for Dan Snyder to sell the team as this once blue blood franchise was rotting before our very eyes, before Snyder bought the Commanders this franchise was once considered a elite organization and one to be proud of to play if you were a player but over these last twenty five years it has been nothing short of a disaster.
