Recap of NBA playoff games from 4/22

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

First game of the night we had was the Phoenix Suns taking on the Los Angeles Clippers as the Suns took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a 112-100 win on Saturday afternoon. With Clippers star Lawhi Leonard out again it looks like he may not play the rest of this series, Suns superstars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker both have 30 point games.

Secondly we had the Philadelphia 76ers sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in 4-0 fashion. With 76ers star Joel Embiid missing this game due to a lower body injury the Sixers still took care of the Nets rather quickly. Multiple Philadelphia players had double doubles including Paul Reed, James Harden and Tobias Harris.

Next up we had the Miami Heat taking on the Milwaukee Bucks in which the Heat won 121-99 to take a 2-1 series lead. With Giannis ANTETOKOUNMPO missing this game it was in no shock that the Heat would win, especially on their home court. With Heat superstar Jimmy Butler having a massive game once again he carried Miami to another victory.

Lastly we had the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Memphis Grizzlies in Los Angeles, the Lakers beat the Grizzlies 111-101 as Anthony Davis had 31 point double double. Even though the Grizzlies lost Ja Morant still had a spectacular game and finished with a 45 point double double as he was dealing with multiple broken fingers in his shooting hand that he suffered early in game 1 of this series.

Recap of NBA playoff games from 4/21

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks and the Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

First game of the night we had was the Celtics vs Hawks as the Hawks stole a game to close the series 1-2 with a 130-122 home win. Trae Young and Dejonte Murray both had terrific games as they combined for 67 points on efficient shooting, Hawks center Clint Capela also did a great job on the boards as he had 11 rebounds.

Next up we had the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the New York Knicks in which the Cavaliers were the first team to score under 80 points this season, the Cavs got whooped by 20 points and are now trailing in the series 1-2. With Cavs guard Darius Garland having only 10 points he really let the team down coming off of his terrific game two performance early in the week.

Lastly we had the Denver Nuggets quickly taking care of the Minnesota Timberwolves as they won 120-111 and now lead the series 3-0. back to back MVP Nikola Jokic had himself a game with a 20 point triple double but this was a team effort as the Nuggets had six players score in double digits.

Recap of NBA playoff games from 4/20

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

First game of the night we had was the Phoenix Suns taking on the Los Angeles Clippers without their two best players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Suns star Devin Booker had himself a game as he finished with 45 points, with the Clippers two stars both being out this game was way too close but with the Suns taking a commanding 2-1 series lead they will look to win game four on Saturday.

Next up we had the Golden State Warriors taking on the Sacramento Kings in which the Warriors won 114-97 to close the gap in this series 1-2. With the Kings bench players really struggling on the road it was up to the Kings starters to keep them in the game. Warriors superstar Stephen Curry had a great game with 36 and 6 on efficient shooting splits and Kevon Looney also had a standout game as he crashed the boards with 20 rebounds.

Lastly we had the Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets as the Sixers took a commanding 3-0 series lead. Things got chippy in this game as Joel Embiid received a flagrant one foul as he kicked Nets forward Nick Claxton and James Harden was ejected late in the game. With the Sixers looking to close this series out this weekend they’ll look forward to their second round matchup next week and get extra rest.

Recap of NBA playoff games from 4/19

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Los Angeles Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

First game of the night we had was the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the feisty Memphis Grizzlies, the Grizzlies without superstar Ja Morant beat the Lakers 103-93 to even the series 1-1. With Grizzlies forward Xavier Tillman having a career night with a 22 point double double which helped Memphis dominate the paint in this game. With Morant out for some time with a hand injury sustained in game 1 it looks like Memphis should be just fine without him.

Next up we had the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Miami Heat without superstar Giannis ANTETOKOUNMPO. The Bucks without their superstar still beat the Heat 138-122 thanks to several Bucks players scoring in double digits, even Brook Lopez and Jrue Holiday had double doubles in this game to tie this series up and steal one without their best player.

Lastly we had the Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves as Nuggets star Jamal Murray had himself a game with 40 points on efficient shooting. This was a great overall performance by the Nuggets as five players scored in double digits and Nikola Jokic was very close to a 27 point triple double. Nuggets take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Recap of NBA playoff games from 4/18

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

First game of thx night we had the Phoenix Suns taking on the Los Angeles Clippers in game 2 as the Suns won 123-109. Suns star Devin Booker had a great game we’re he finished with 38 points and led the team to a victory to tie the series at one game a piece.         Second game of the night was the Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks, the Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead as Boston beat Atlanta 119-106. Celtics superstar Jason Tatum had another great game as he finished with a 29 point double double, Derrick White also had an outstanding game as he finished with 26 and 7 on efficient shooting.

Cleveland guard Darius Garland had one of his best games of his career as he finished with 32 3 and 7 in relatively efficient shooting. NBA first round matchups 4/17

With the NBA postseason still in its first week we had two fantastic games from Monday night’s slate of games as the Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings and the Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets. Let’s go through each game and give a brief summary of how these games played out.

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Nets 96-84 to take a 2-0 series lead, as many predicted this series is going to be a breeze and so far this has been for 76ers. Sixers star Tyrese Maxey had one of his best games of the season where he dropped 33 points but Maxey wasn’t the only big contributor this game as Sixers stars Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris both had 20 point double doubles. Nets star wing Mikal Bridges struggled as he shot 40% FG and 25% from 3PT.

The Sacramento Kings have jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the defending champ Golden State Warriors with a 114-106 win in Sacramento. With Kings stars De’Aaron Fox and Demontis Sabonis both having 24 point games and Malik Monk with 18 coming off the bench, Monk has been an unsung hero this series. With the Golden State Warriors heading back to San Francisco for the next two games they will look to bounce back and make this a even series heading into the weekend.

NBA playoff top three performers on Saturday night

With the NBA postseason officially tipping off on Saturday afternoon we had our first four playoff games of Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics, New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings. Let’s go through my top 3 playoff performances on Saturday night.

With the best performance of the night I have to give it to De’aaron Fox, this was his first ever playoff game and he had the second most points in a playoff game debut just behind Luka Doncic. Fox had 38 1 and 5 with 3 steals on relatively efficient shooting (48.1% FG, 50% 3PT), with the Kings taking the 1-0 lead in the series it’s a good start for the underdog Kings.

The second best performance of the night has to go to James Harden, Harden had a nice 23 and 13 game on good efficiency considering he has struggled in the playoffs in his career, but with teammate Joel Embiid taking most of the attention away from Harden he really shined in this game.

Jalen Brunson absolutely dominated in this first game as he had 27 points 2 boards 2 assists and 2 steals on good shooting splits. Brunson and the Knicks are serious underdogs in this series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, with this being Brunson’s first playoff game with New York he definitely shined when the lights were brightest. Knicks take a 1-0 series lead.

NBA play in games win or home

With the NBA post season officially starting we have the first two NBA play-in games, the first two were the Chicago Bulls vs Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Pelicans vs Oklahoma City Thunder. Let’s go through both of these games and how they played out.

The first game was the Chicago Bulls taking on the Toronto Raptors, the Bulls overcame a 17 point deficit in the second half to win this game. With the Raptors missing eighteen free throws, that was the big difference in this game, even though Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet had great games it still wasn’t enough to keep them in the game as Toronto really struggled on the defensive end. Raptors go home as the Bulls will face the Miami Heat for the 8th seed on Friday.

The second game of the night was the New Orleans Pelicans taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder, this game was a nail biter through all four quarters. even with Pelicans star Brandon Ingram having a phenomenal game and a miracle three pointer to pull the game back to one, it wasn’t enough to keep the Pelicans alive. Thunder stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey both had 30 point games as they are quickly becoming a top young duo in the league.

7th seed play in winners

With the NBA post season officially starting we have the first two NBA play-in games, the first two were the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat. Let’s go through both of these games and how they played out.

The first game was the Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat, this game was a shocker as the Hawks upset the Heat and won by 11. With most media and fans picking the Heat to win this game, this was a big upset. Hawks star Trae Young had a decent game as he finished with 25 8 and 7 but on poor shooting (44.4% FG 12.5% 3PT). Overall this was a great win for the Hawks as they will now face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs next week.

The second game of the night was the Los Angeles Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves, this game was a long one as the Lakers and Timberwolves went to overtime but the Lakers edged out Minnesota with a 108-102 victory. This game was more about the Timberwolves poor play down the stretch as Anthony Edwards and Karl Anthony-Towns, with Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels missing this game the Timberwolves could have easily won this game and punched their ticket to the playoffs but will now face the winner of the New Orleans Pelicans vs Oklahoma City Thunder.
